In 2018, the staff, board and volunteers at Camp Kirk set some lofty goals - and with your help we accomplished them!
We kicked off the year with our 25th anniversary concert. Over 550 camp alumni, donors and friends came together to celebrate and keep the "magic" of Camp Kirk alive. The night was filled with music and friendship. It was an amazing concert and because of your generosity we raised over $280,000!
In the summer, we welcomed 144 kids to camp. Our campers have autism, attention deficit disorders, learning disabilities and anxiety, but these challenges do not define them. With the support of our caring staff, they discovered their strengths, gained confidence and made friends. Through programs (including pottery, rock climbing, drama, and more) campers learned that they are creative, brave, and funny. This wouldn't have been possible without your support.
Thank you for giving our campers the chance to shine.
WHAT PARENTS SAY
"Our youngest son attended Camp Kirk this summer for the first time. Watching him hug staff the day he departed brought tears to my eyes. The level of comfort he gained at camp has lasted into the school year. His self confidence soared and he has shown so much positivity since attending. I cannot praise Camp Kirk enough for the love and respect they show to my children." -Katherine F.
"When I came to pick up my daughter from camp I was amazed to see how confident she was! She went from a shy child when dropped off to one that glowed with self-confidence...She can't wait to come back next year!" -Pam M.
"Each year at camp, my son grows in self-assurance and confidence. He looks forward to it each year, and his experience never disappoints. We feel he’s given the tools and self-esteem boost he needs to navigate the year ahead, and we are so grateful." -Louise G.
At the end of the summer we surveyed our parents and they let us know that Camp Kirk had a big impact on their children. Your support truly made a difference for our campers!
Camper fees only covered 37% of the cost of operating our camp. Because of you, 144 children were able to attend Camp Kirk and no child was turned away due to their financial situation. Your generosity also helped us add essential funds to our reserves, ensuring our program and campers are protected in the event of an economic downturn or unforeseen changes to our fundraising activities.
